Common sense of purchasing:
1. Current distributing center of PPGI in China is Boxing county of Shandong province, with low quality thin PPGI, thickness range is 0.12-0.6mm mainly.
Mid and high quality PPGI is usuanlly in Liaoning, Hebei, Tianjin, thickness range is 0.35-1.2mm.
2. Due to differences of competition level, labor cost and market positioning, price of PPGI goes from low to high with the following areas: Shandong, Liaoning, Hebei, East China, South China.
Among them, econimic choices are in Liaoning, Hebei, Tianjin, almost all top 5 PPGI brands are in these regions.
3. Factory standard of most PPGI mills in Boxing: 10~30% aluminum contained in the base material, zinc coating 16-18 g/m2, top paint 9-11 um, back paint 2-4 um. For Liaoning, Hebei, Tianjin,
base material without aluminum, zinc coating 22-30 g/m2, top paint 12-14 um, back paint 4-5 um.
4. Well understand the basic information of a supplier, including the scale, back ground, better not to buy from small company with very low price. Ask for a sudden video chat to know the truth is a good way.
5. For thin PPGI, especially below 0.25mm, must confirm the liner meters per ton, otherwise one may get PPGI with positive tolerance. For example, order PPGI with the specification of 0.18mm*1000mm,
there should be 707 liner meters in one ton (cost price 700 USD). But some suppliers will offer price with the thickness of 0.2mm in order to increase their price advantage, when clients receive the goods,
there are only 636 liner meters in one ton (cost price 670 USD), about 70 meters short per ton. Big loss !
6. For flat sheet or corrugated sheet, some suppliers offer price with theoretical weight delivery to increase their price advantage. Example: order specification is 0.35mm*1219mm*2438mm,
approximately 20000 flat sheets, about 163 tons. When delivery, thickness may be 0.32mm, still 20000 sheets, but the actual net weight is 149 tons, 13.69 tons short. Big loss !
7. Why is there big price difference with high standard PPGI ?
Example: order specification of PPGI is 0.5mm*1250mm*coil, Z180, paint thickness 25/15 um, PE paint, total quantity 200 metric tons (254 sqm/ mt, price of zinc is 25000 rmb/mt).
Some suppliers offer with Z40 just to get the order, 140 g/m2 zinc coating was stolen, the final price difference is 254 m/mt * 140 g zinc * 0.025 rmb/mt zinc = 889 rmb = 134 usd.
That’s why there is quite big price difference in high standard PPGI. When the buyers want HDP / PVDF paint, some suppliers offer with PE paint, price difference will be 200-500 usd/mt !
8. Short weight delivery. Once an Ukraine buyer paid for 900 mt PPGI with the specification of 0.5*1250mm, but when they received the goods, there are only 830 mt. Big loss !
